Hadleigh Dolphins began the start of the season in fine form at the Diss Pool Cup in Diss, on Saturday 8th September. The team consisted of junior and senior squad swimmers ranging from 10 years old rising to adult swimmers aged 20+ years.
The Dolphins recorded 17/30 personal best times (PBS). Some Club records were broken and 8 county qualification times were achieved, as well as 2 regional qualification times. Head Coach, Kern Death was very pleased with the team effort and results and felt it showed lots of promise for the rest of the season.
Notable swims came from: Collette Bunce aged 11 years 1st in the 25m Fly. Tom Olive, aged 15 years Achieved a regional and county qualification time in the 50m Free of 26.88 seconds. He also broke a club record and got county qualification for 50m Back. Lucy Mackenzie got 1st place and county qualifiers in the 50m free and 50m breast. Fiona Manthorpe achieved a 1st place and county time on her 50m free event. Fifteen year old, Nathan Garrity achieved a county time in his 50m Fly, but notably a county and regional time in 50m breast. Finally, Abi Malster Achieved a county time in her 50m Fly event.
The Dolphins also excelled in their relay events, over the 9 relay events, they finished either 1st or 2nd placed.
The final scores were: Diss =99 points, Hadleigh= 90 points and Great Yarmouth = 54 points. Two other teams withdrew and did not compete.
