Masters News

Anita Malster, ex-Team Manager of Hadleigh Dolphins and new masters swimmer, competed in her 1st Triathlon at the end of July.
Anita's daughter Abigail, swims in the senior squad and up until very recently, Anita was dry poolside doing various "behind-the-scenes" jobs. Then suddenly, she got wet!!!

Anita trained long and hard for the Culford Triathlon, about ten months and made tremendous progress. Initially she could not manage more than 25m without stopping, in the Triathlon she swam 300m and has continued swimming for three one hour sessions per week.
Anita swam 300m in 7 minutes 13 seconds (a PB), rode a bike for 20 km and ran 4km finishing in 151st place.

Her husband, Chris also competed and finished 138th. Between them they raised £300 for the swimming club and their local Church Youth Project. The money raised for the club is intended for a retired GB swimmer to come and run a Workshop for the Dolphin squads. Any left over will be put towards much needed teaching equipment. We would all like to thank them very much for their efforts and "very well done" from all your Dolphin mates.

Anita will be competing in the East Regional Masters championships in Bury in October 2007. Hadleigh Dolphins are sending a number of Masters swimmers (over 25 years), led by Head Coach, Kern Death. We wish them all the best of Luck.
